Meta tags define a page’s content and search engines depend on them to provide list entries when a user searches for something. In this section you can add meta tags to pages and sites, modify values of existing meta tags, to improve a page’s SEO. With tags added to a page, you can decide if you want to use the default value, overwrite it, or eliminate it from this page.

To add a new meta tag to your site, follow these steps:

  1. In Modyo Platform, in the main menú, expand Channels, and click Sites.

  2. Click your Site.

  3. Expand Site configuration and click SEO.

  4. In the Custom meta tags section, click + New meta tag.

In the window that appears you have the option of choosing between different meta tags and assigning a value for them. This value can also be dynamic if you use Liquid. If you activate Replicate meta tag in pages, a copy of this meta tag will be created for you in the Property section of every Page.

As part of the base Template, we include the Snippet seo that contains the information to add meta tags depending if a user visits a Site, a Page, or an Entry.

For more information about how we use dynamic meta tags in Sites, visit SEO in Templates.
